Change Shell of an User in FreeBSD PDF
Friday, 11 July 2014
Let's say we want to change the shell of a FreeBSD user from UNIX shell (sh) to bash. To do that we will run the following command:

  chsh -s /usr/local/bin/bash john

where john is the user for which we want to change the shell.

We can also change the shell for root user:

  chsh -s /usr/local/bin/bash root
