Tuning ZFS on slow scrub speed PDF

If you have problem with zfs scrub process that is too slow you can try to tune it by adding the following line to /boot/loader.conf which will lower ATA queue size:

  vfs.zfs.vdev.max_pending="4"

The default value is 10. You might notice the CPU load is higher in this case but this option helps in many cases to lower scrub process time quite a bit.
