Change FreeBSD timezone from command line PDF
Wednesday, 02 May 2012
Changing time zone for a FreeBSD machine can be done very easy by copying the proper timezone file from /usr/share/zoneinfo to /etc/localtime:

  date
Wed May  2 18:40:41 EEST 2012

  cp /usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Berlin  /etc/localtime

  date
Wed May  2 17:41:07 CEST 2012

You will notice time change when using date command second time. You can also sync your time with a ntp server:

  ntpdate pool.ntp.org
