Rebuild a port and all it's dependencies PDF
Tuesday, 07 February 2012
Let's say we have a port that was compiled with some libraries but then we did a cvsup and some dependencies are old and others are new. We want to use last dependencies and recompile that port and dependencies.

So if you want to rebuild a port and all it's dependencies a way to go is to use portmaster.

We install portmaster:

  cd /usr/ports/ports-mgmt/portmaster
  make install clean; rehash

Then we rebuild the port and it's dependencies. Next example is for rebuilding Firefox:

  portmaster -fR www/firefox
