Monitor DHCP traffic with dhcpdump PDF
Saturday, 04 June 2011
We can monitor DHCP traffic with dhcpdump utility from ports:

  cd /usr/ports/net/dhcpdump
  make install clean
  rehash

Then we use tcpdump to pipe traffic to dhcpdump:

  dhcpdump -i fxp0

We can also sniff dhcp traffic with:

tcpdump -lxne -i fxp0 -s 1500 port bootpc or port bootps
