Wednesday, 27 April 2011
There's a toot in ports to list all your open files in FreeBSD:

To install it:

  cd /usr/ports/sysutils/lsof
  make install clean
  rehash

To use it:

  lsof

You might want to use grep to get a specific file since there's a lot of open files usualy on a system.

A very usefull option is -i which has different uses:

  lsof -i

We can see what processes use what port.

  lsof -i:port
  lsof -i @server:port

For more info man lsof.
