This section deal with error messages of your applications.

Error1: 501 Syntax error in parameters or arguments (in reply to MAIL FROM command))

Application: postfix
This error might occur when you try to send emails to yahoo or other mail servers, from a PHP or Perl script. To solve this error ad in mail.cf the following lines:

append_at_myorigin = no

append_dot_mydomain = no

Error2: DAD detected duplicate IPv6 adress fe80::0001::0250::8bff::fe64::2c64

What is that and what should I do?

DAD means Duplicate Address Detection. It means that two different stations have the same IPv6 address on your LAN. IPv6 addresses are usualy automatically generated from MAC addresses, so you will need to remove the card that has the duplicate MAC address.

Other posibility is that somebody from LAN is faking your MAC. You should find that station and remove it from the LAN.

Also you could try to setup the inteface link speed and duplex in ifconfig, so the nic won' be set to autodetect.

To disable this error message (this won't solve the problem) add in /etc/sysctl.conf the following line:

It was a case once when happend in practice to appear this message due to a defective switch on the LAN.
