Tips for Apple's OS X Tiger. Tip 1. See a realtime report of system cals and page faults related to file system activity (in realtime). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ $ sudo fs_usage -f filesys This terminal command is useful to debug problem of your OS X, like system slow, application problems. Tip 2. Speed up Safari Browser ----------------------------------------- Sometimes Safari can get slow so here are two tips to speed up Safari. First delete all your cookies on regular bases. This will help speeding up Safari because it seems cookies are stored in a linear database, so if you have a lot of cookies, your browser will be slow. Second tip to speed up Safari: Delete folder: ~/Library/Safari/Icons periodicaly. You will notice speed improvements. |
