Restore Boot In to FreeBSD's Boot Partition PDF
Monday, 24 November 2014
If your FreeBSD system does not boot, we can always try to repair boot data on our boot partition. So for this example we have GPT partition, and boot partition is first (number 1). To restore boot we will run:

     gpart bootcode -b /boot/pmbr -p /boot/gptboot -i 1 ada0

If we've installed ZFS on Root then our command is:

     gpart bootcode -b /boot/pmbr -p /boot/gptzfsboot -i 1 ada0
