Show Config Options for a Port PDF
Friday, 17 October 2014
When you compile an app from FreeBSD's ports, some of them will display first a blue screen from where you will chose compile options. If you want to see available compile options and if those options are on or off just run the following command:

  make showconfig

You will get something like (this is for /usr/ports/lang/php56 port):

===> The following configuration options are available for php56-5.6.1:
     CLI=on: Build CLI version
     CGI=on: Build CGI version
     FPM=on: Build FPM version
     FPM_IPV6=off: Enable ipv6 patch for FPM
     EMBED=off: Build embedded library
     PHPDBG=off
     DEBUG=off: Enable debug
     DTRACE=on: Enable DTrace support
     IPV6=on: Enable ipv6 support
     MAILHEAD=off: Enable mail header patch
     LINKTHR=on: Link thread lib (for threaded extensions)
     ZTS=off: Force Zend Thread Safety (ZTS) build
===> Use 'make config' to modify these settings

Note: to run this you must be in port's directory. For example:

cd /usr/ports/lang/php56
make showconfig

or you can run from anywhere using -C option:

  make -C
/usr/ports/lang/php56 showconfig
